What makes Acumatica implementations go over budget?
Integrations, data-migration scope (years of history, data cleanup) and custom scripts or reports are the usual overruns. Pin each down in the SOW with a fixed fee or not-to-exceed cap.
Should I pay fixed fee or time and materials?
Fixed fee shifts overrun risk to the partner but only covers what the SOW names; T&M is flexible but needs a cap. Most buyers get a fixed fee for discovery, then a capped build.
